The Post page of your Instant Journalist site is where you want to go to put content on your site.
Click the Post tab, enter a title and some text for your story. You can also attach up to ten images, videos, or documents. Our integrated maps let you pick a specific location and neighborhood for your story.
When you're done, click the Submit button and your post will be uploaded to the site. If you want to make a change to the post, just click the Edit link on the right-hand side of its detail page.
Leave a comment if you have any questions or suggestions!
InEdit is Instivate's system that makes it easy to change the content on your site.
Where ever you see text on the site, right click on it and you'll see an option to edit it. Click the edit option, and you'll get a pop-up window that allows you to change the text. Once you're happy with your changes, click the Save button and you'll see the edits immediately appear on the page.
You can also insert new widgets and other features on the pages. For example, in the right-hand column of your home page, right click and select the "Insert" option. You see a new window with a variety of widgets to choose from. You can also insert a blank widget that you can fill with your own content. Make a selection, click the save button, and your choice will pop into place on the page.
Want to reorder the widgets on your page? Drag-and-drop allows you to put things just like you want them.
And finally, you can delete a widget by right-clicking on it and choosing the "Delete Feature" option.
We've built Instant Journalist to make it easy for people to manage their sites.
Anywhere you see a user's content on your site, just right click to see the options you have for dealing with it:
Delete Content - Removes the content from view on the site. As an administrator, you'll still be able to view the content and undo the delete if necessary
Promote Content - Gives you the ability to feature a story on the home page of your site. Use this to drive people to the best things your site has to offer
Note that these options work for stories, comments, images, videos, and documents.
Instant Journalist also allows you to build community of moderators on your site. Click on the Users link under your admin tab, and click on the username that you want to grant moderation abilities to. Select the "Website Moderator" role at the bottom of the page and click the add button. That user will then be able to take moderation actions on any content on the site.
When you have a team of moderators, it's important to...
